  • Bilateral symmetry; round, no segments
  • Inhabit a very broad range of environments. More than half of nematode species are parasitic.
    • Nematodes commonly parasitic on humans include Ascaris, hookworms, pinworms and whipworms.
    • Other parasitic species also use animals as a host.
